Jay Cahill is an experienced reinsurance executive with leadership roles across underwriting, finance, and capital management. He leads Clear Star Re, overseeing $350 million of in-force premium and a $1 billion new business pipeline. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer of United Risk, guiding its spinout from Applied Underwriters. Jay spent over a decade at RenaissanceRe, where he founded the Casualty & Specialty division and advanced Bermuda’s mortgage credit reinsurance market.

He holds an MFE from UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Boston College.
